Let's get started on your journey towards a subscription-free and financially organized life.

Overview of USAA cards and their benefits

USAA stands for United Services Automobile Association, a renowned financial institution that offers a range of products and services to military members and their families. Among their offerings are USAA cards, which provide numerous benefits and advantages to cardholders. Let's take a closer look at the overview of USAA cards and the benefits they bring:

Exclusive eligibility

USAA cards are available exclusively to active and retired military personnel, as well as their immediate family members. This ensures that cardholders belong to a supportive community with a shared background and unique needs.

Competitive rates and fees

USAA cards often come with competitive interest rates and minimal fees, allowing cardholders to save money on their transactions and account maintenance.

Generous rewards program

USAA offers attractive rewards programs tailored to different card types, including cashback, travel rewards, and points-based systems (you can redeem points for many things such as merchandise, travel, and more).
Cardholders can earn rewards on their everyday spending, which can be redeemed for a variety of options like travel, merchandise, or statement credits.

Enhanced security features

USAA prioritizes the security of their cardholders' accounts. Their cards often come equipped with advanced security features, such as chip technology, roadside assistance and fraud monitoring, providing peace of mind during transactions.

Convenient mobile app

USAA provides a user-friendly mobile app that allows cardholders to easily manage their accounts, track expenses, make payments, and even freeze their cards in case of loss or theft. The app's intuitive interface ensures a seamless banking experience on the go.

Exceptional customer service

USAA is renowned for its exceptional customer service, consistently ranking high in customer satisfaction surveys.
Cardholders can rely on dedicated support representatives who understand their unique circumstances and can provide assistance tailored to their needs.
However, if you have made up your mind to cancel your unwanted subscriptions on your USAA cards, it's essential to follow a simple and systematic approach.

10-steps to cancel recurring payments via the mobile app

Note: You can view transactions on the app just not an official statement.
  1. Login to your USAA (United Services Automobile Association) Bank App
  2. Tap Your Initials in the upper-left corner of screen
  3. Tap My Documents in the menu
  4. You can view statements of your different USAA Bank accounts and cards under Last 30 Days
  5. Review statements line-by-line to find unwanted recurring payments (be sure you are checking the right months)
  6. Take note of the merchant name, amount, and next scheduled payment date for each recurring payment.
  7. Click previous month’s statement to ensure the monthly or yearly subscription charge is the same and wasn’t increased
  8. If the charge is there and it is wrong you then have to go through the process of canceling. Once you've identified a recurring payment you want to cancel, you'll need to find the merchant's contact information and go through the process of canceling that subscription manually.
  9. Repeat steps 1-8 for every single USAA card (e.g., USAA Cashback Rewards Plus American Express Card, USAA Rate Advantage Visa Platinum Card, USAA Rewards American Express Card, USAA Secured Card American Express) you have in your wallet.
  10. Review your account regularly
