Navigate a Free Trial on fuboTV Without Hidden Charges: A Comprehensive Guide

FuboTV is a popular streaming service that offers a wide range of live TV channels, including sports (hello March Madness!), news, and entertainment. The service is known for its high-quality streams and user-friendly interface, making it a great choice for cord-cutters who want to enjoy their favorite TV shows and sports events without the hassle of cable subscriptions. Like many streaming services, fuboTV requires a subscription fee to access its content, which can be a dealbreaker for some users. However, they do offer a 7-day free trial — allowing users to test and enjoy the service for a short period of time. The problem is that people often forget about canceling their free trial and get hit with unwanted subscription charges. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of getting a free fuboTV trial without the fear of an unwanted bill.

  5. Fill in your payment information of your credit card and billing information
You’re all set! You can enjoy your free trial and won’t be charged until your trial ends. The trick is to remember to cancel (or have a tool to help you) so you don’t get charged. We discuss this later in the article!

2. What can I get with a Fubotv Free Trial?

A FuboTV 7-day trial includes a variety of content that you can take advantage of:
  • Live TV channels: FuboTV offers a variety of live TV channels, including sports, news, and entertainment channels. You can access channels like ESPN, NBC Sports, NFL Network, TNT, TBS, CNN, and more.
  • On-demand content: FuboTV also offers a library of on-demand content, including movies and TV shows (Sense and Sensibility, Blacklist, Quantum Leap, Not Dead Yet, MasterChef, and so on) which you can access during the trial period.
It's worth noting that the exact content available during the free trial period may vary depending on your location and the current offerings of the service. However, you can generally expect to have access to a wide range of live TV channels and on-demand content.

3. How to cancel your free trial before getting charged?

There are many ways to ensure you can enjoy your free trial without getting charged, but they range in time intensity and risk of getting charged. We listed out all the ways to cancel your free trial without getting charged below:

1. Cancel Using ScribeUp [Low, Low]

ScribeUp is the easiest and safest (yes, it can be both) option to have the power to cancel subscriptions and avoid unwanted bills. ScribeUp will never let you get caught with an unwanted subscription charge. You can enjoy watching fuboTV during your free trial, and even if you forget to cancel, ScribeUp will automatically cancel for you. ScribeUp gives you the decision power to enjoy the free trial and genuinely test if you want to pay for the subscription. And, by the way, ScribeUp is completely free.
  1. Install ScribeUp
  2. Go to fubo TV and click Activate Free Trial
  3. We’ll handle the rest:
    • We will auto-detect the service and trial length
    • We will send you a reminder two days before your trial ends to decide to keep or cancel with one simple click
    • If you forget, we automatically cancel the trial for you
Time Intensity: Low Riskiness Rating: Low

2. Cancel on fuboTV Website [Medium, High]

Canceling your free trial on fuboTV’s website is straight-forward. The hard part is to remember to do it on time before the free trial ends and the auto-payment hits your bank account. It could be very risky to simply rely on your mind to remember to cancel. And, if you cancel too early, you might lose access to your account. Follow these steps to cancel:
  1. Set reminder(s) in your calendar to cancel fuboTV at least a day before your next auto-pay date occurs (We recommend having at least two reminders)
  2. When it’s time, go to www.fubo.tv
  3. Click on your profile photo on the right top corner
  4. Click on My Account
  5. In the section that says Account Detail, click on a red box that says Cancel Subscription
While it is fairly easy to cancel, the tricky part is remembering to cancel. Although there are ways to remember (i.e. calendar notifications), it is difficult to actually take action to do it or even remembering to create one. If you do it this way, we also recommend doing it a couple of days before it’s due just in case the “30 day free trial” isn’t exactly 1 month.

3. Cancel on Android Device [Medium, High]

There is no way to directly cancel via the app from your Android device, and you’ll still need to go to their website.
  1. Go to the fuboTV website and log in to your account.
  2. Click on the My Account tab in the top right corner of the page.
  3. In the section that says Account Detail, click on a red box that says Cancel Subscription
  4. Confirm that you want to cancel your subscription by clicking on the Cancel Subscription button again

4. Cancel on iOS Device [Medium, High]

If you want to cancel via your iOS devices, we also have the steps for you. Although the steps are hard, once again it is remembering to cancel that is hard. We would suggest you to set up reminders and alarms to remind yourself to cancel before the charge hits your bank account. Follow these steps to cancel your free trial using any of your iOS devices:
  1. Set reminder(s) in your calendar to cancel Hulu at least a day before your next auto-pay date occurs (we recommend having at least two reminders)
  2. Click Settings app
  3. Click on your Apple ID Profile (your name at the top of your screen)
  4. Click Subscriptions
  5. Click Fubo TV
  6. Click Cancel Subscription or Cancel Free Trial (in red) on the service’s information page
  7. Click Confirm to cancel your subscription
Similar to the website solution, you will need to rely on yourself to time it perfectly to cancel on time and maximize your free trial. Many people forget to cancel, so do what you have to do whether it’s creating calendar invites or asking your friends to remind you.

5.Cancel on Roku [Medium, High]

If you subscribed via Roku:
  1. Go to my.roku.com
  2. Go to My Account
  3. Go to Manage Your Subscriptions
  4. Find fuboTV among the services that you’re subscribed to, click on the unsubscribe button

6. Cancel Using Virtual Card Provider [High, Low]

There is a new way to get around the cancellation headache that ensures you won’t get charged, but is just as, if not more, timely than the normal options.
Follow these steps to cancel using a virtual card provider:
  1. Go to one of the virtual card providers (e.g., DoNotPay, Privacy, X1)
  2. Go through their onboarding process to sign up for a card
  3. Create a card by adding Personal Info and Funding Source
  4. Add funding limit of $2 (this is to ensure authorization charge goes through)
  5. Sign-up for fuboTV and ensure payment goes through (these prepaid cards often get rejected)
  6. Set reminder(s) in your calendar when your fuboTV free trial is about to expire and evaluate if you want to keep or cancel your subscription
  7. Enjoy the subscription for the month
  8. When your reminder goes off, go back to virtual card site:
    • To Cancel: Lower funding limit from $2 to $0
    • To Keep: Look up the plan you want and increase funding limit to the monthly amount OR switch to your personal credit or debit card
Time Intensity: High Riskiness Rating: Low
While the virtual card option is a manual process, maybe more so than the old-school version, it is definitely safe from getting caught with an unwanted bill. However, you are limiting yourself from enjoying the subscription if you want to continue. Also, be careful, some of these card providers are subscription-based so you might get caught with an unwanted recurring payment from them!

4. What's the fine print I should know about?

There are some restrictions with shows available. Some fuboTV content may not be available during the free trial period. For example, certain live sports events may be subject to blackout restrictions.

5. How to maximize your free trial?

With so much content available, it can be easy to miss out on your favorite matches or events. That's why it's important to set reminders for upcoming sports games or shows that you're interested in watching. By doing so, you can ensure that you never miss out on the action. Additionally, fuboTV's customization feature allows you to personalize your viewing experience by providing tailored recommendations based on your interests and preferences. This feature helps you discover new content and ensures that you never run out of things to watch.
In terms of discounts, fuboTV does not offer student discounts. For veterans, they provide a $10 a month discount for two months when you log in with your GovX account.
