1. How to sign-up for an Amazon Music free trial?

The most straightforward way is to sign up via their website.

Go to their website music.amazon.com
You’ll be able to see a banner at the bottom of your screen, click on the blue button that says “Try it FREE” to start a 30-day free trial.
Fill in card info for payment methods
Then you’ll automatically enroll in their unlimited individual plan

2. What can I get with an Amazon Music Free Trial?

There are three plans that you can get with a free trial:

Unlimited individual plan: 30-day free trial and then $8.99/month
Family plan: 30-day free trial and $14.99/month
Student plan: If you are currently enrolled at a degree-granting university or college, you can get the Individual Plan for only $4.99/month. But you’ll have to do it in settings and verify your student status!

The family plan gives you 6 subscription accounts which will cost $14.99/mo after the trial, if you’re trying the trial with several friends you can also try that out! But just to be aware that it’s gonna cost more after the trial.

You’ll be able to keep Amazon Music songs playable, enjoy ad-free podcasts, playlists, unlimited skips, and also offline listening once the trial is activated!

3. How to ensure you won’t get charged after your free trial?

There are several ways to cancel, which are all pretty simple. The difficult part is to remember to cancel your Amazon Music Unlimited subscription before they charge you!!

a. Use the Amazon Music Website

Canceling from their website is pretty straightforward.

Go to music.amazon.com
Click on Settings on the right corner of your screen
Click on the first option that says “Your Amazon Music Settings” and you’ll be redirected to the amazon website
Under where it says Subscription Renewal, you'll see a blue line that says “Cancel Subscription”.
Continue to select “Cancel”

b. Use iOS Devices to Cancel

Unfortunately, you can't cancel your Amazon Music subscription via the iOS app. However, you can go through Settings if you subscribed via the App Store or your Apple ID, and you can also follow the steps above to cancel using a browser from your device.

c. Use the Android app to Cancel

Open the Amazon Music app.
Tap on the Settings icon, then Amazon Music Unlimited
Then you should be able to see the Cancel subscription option from the Subscription Renewal, tap on it
Tap Submit and confirm cancellation

Again, the difficulty with this option is to remember to cancel your subscription on time. Whether it's calendar reminders or countless alarms, you'll need to manually remind yourself to cancel your subscription.

d. Use Virtual Card Providers to add limited funds

There is a new way to get around the cancellation headache that ensures you won’t get charged but is just as, if not more, timely than the normal options.

Follow these steps to cancel using a virtual card provider:

Go to one of the virtual card providers (e.g., DoNotPay, Privacy, X1)
Go through their onboarding process to sign up for a card
Create a card by adding Personal Info and Funding Source
Add funding limit of $2 (this is to ensure authorization charge goes through)
Sign-up for Amazon Music and ensure payment goes through (these prepaid cards often get rejected)
Set reminder(s) in your calendar when your Amazon Music free trial is about to expire and evaluate if you want to keep or cancel your subscription
Enjoy the subscription
When your reminder goes off, go back to virtual card site:
- To Cancel: Lower funding limit from $2 to $0
- To Keep: Look up the plan you want and increase funding limit to the monthly amount OR switch to your personal credit or debit card
