1. How to sign-up for a Paramount+ Free Trial?

You can only sign-up for a Paramount+ Free Trial online, but it's pretty simple to sign up for Paramount+'s free trial and only takes a few minutes. Just follow these steps:
  1. Go to https://www.paramountplus.com/account/signup/plan/
  2. Select which Paramount+ plan you want (we recommend going with Essential)
  3. Fill in your account information including email address, password, and personal
    information and click Continue
  4. Fill in your payment method (this is daunting but See Section 3 of this article to see your protected options) and click Submit
That's it! Paramount+ will ask you to personalize your profile to help recommend shows and channels, but you will immediately be able to enjoy your free trial on both your phone and online.

2. What can I get with a Paramount+ Free Trial?

There are two Paramount+ base plans that you can get with a Free Trial:
  • Essential: 1 Week Free and then $4.99/month
  • Premium: 1 Week Free and then $9.99/month
We would suggest opting into the Essential version. There’s no obvious difference besides downloading shows and a local CBS channel – to us that’s not worth an extra $5. There is also another bundle plan with SHOWTIME that offers you to get both Paramount+ and SHOWTIME for $7/month more.

3. How to ensure you won’t get charged after your free trial?

There are many ways to ensure you can enjoy your free trial without getting charged, but they widely range in time and riskiness. See below a comprehensive list and step-to-step guide:

a. Use the Paramount+ website

Canceling your free trial on Paramount+’s website is straight-forward. The hard part is to remember to do it on time before you get charged after the first week. The good news is that if you immediately cancel your Paramount+ account, you won't immediately lose access to your free trial. Follow these steps to cancel:
  1. Set reminder(s) in your calendar to cancel Paramount+ at least a day before your next auto-pay date occurs (We recommend having at least two reminders)
  2. When it’s time, go to https://paramountplus.com/
  3. Click on your initials on the top right hand corner and click Account
  4. Scroll down to the “Cancel subscription”
  5. Click Cancel
  6. Paramount+ will offer a hail mary save to see if you want to pause your subscription
instead. If you truly want to cancel, click “Continue to cancel”
  7. Click Cancel one last time
Riskiness Rating: High
Time Intensity Rating: Medium
While it is fairly easy to cancel, the tricky part is to remember to cancel. Although there are ways to remember (i.e. calendar notifications), it is tricky to actually take action to do it. According to Business Insider, on average, a person receives 60 to 80 notifications on their phone making it highly likely for someone to ignore a calendar reminder to cancel.

b. Use your iOS Devices

Follow these steps to cancel your free trial using any of your iPhone or iPad device:
  1. Set reminder(s) in your calendar to cancel Paramount+ at least a day before your first
auto-pay date occurs (We recommend having at least two reminders)
  2. When it’s time, tap the settings app on your iPhone or iPad
  3. Tap iTunes & App Store
  4. Tap your Apple ID
  5. Tap View Apple ID
  6. Sign in using your Apple ID (if this is how you signed-up for Paramount+)
  7. Tap Subscriptions
  8. Tap Paramount+
  9. Tap Cancel Subscription
  10. Tap Confirm
Time Intensity Rating: Medium Riskiness Rating: High
Similar to the website solution, you will need to rely on yourself to time it perfectly to cancel on time and maximize your free trial. Many people forget to cancel, so do what you have to do whether it’s creating calendar invites or asking your friends to remind you.

c. Use your Android Devices

Follow these steps to cancel your free trial using any of your Android devices:
  1. Set reminder(s) in your calendar to cancel Paramount+ at least a day before your first
auto-pay date occurs (We recommend having at least two reminders)
  2. When it’s time, go to g.co/play/subscriptions
  3. Click on your Paramount+ App
  4. Select Cancel Subscription
  5. Follow the instructions and tap Cancel again
You won’t receive a notification when you cancel so ensure that your account says “Canceled.”
Time Intensity Rating: Medium Riskiness Rating: High

d. Use Virtual Card Provider to Cancel

This option, while straightforward, requires you to stay on top of your subscription and thus very risky. d. Use Virtual Card Providers to add limited funds. There is a new way to get around the cancellation headache that ensures you won’t get charged, but is just as, if not more, timely than the normal options.
Follow these steps to cancel using a virtual card provider:
  1. Go to one of the virtual card providers (e.g., DoNotPay, Privacy, X1)
  2. Go through their onboarding process to sign up for a card
  3. Create a card by adding Personal Info and Funding Source
  4. Add funding limit of $2 (this is to ensure authorization charge goes through)
  5. Sign-up for Paramount+ and ensure payment goes through (these prepaid cards often
    get rejected)
  6. Set reminder(s) in your calendar when your Paramount+ free trial is about to expire and
evaluate if you want to keep or cancel your subscription
  7. Enjoy the subscription for the month
  8. When your reminder goes off, go back to the virtual card site:
    • To Cancel: Lower funding limit from $2 to $0
    • To Keep: Look up the plan you want and increase funding limit to the monthly amount OR switch to your personal credit or debit card
Time Intensity: High Riskiness Rating: Low
While the virtual card option is a manual process, maybe more so than the old-school version, it is definitely safe from getting caught with an unwanted bill. However, you are limiting yourself from enjoying the subscription if you want to continue. Also, be careful, some of these card providers are subscription-based so you might get caught with an unwanted recurring payment from them!

e. Use ScribeUp

ScribeUp is the easiest and safest (yes, it can be both) option to have the power to cancel subscriptions and avoid unwanted bills.
  1. Install ScribeUp
  2. Go to Paramount+.com and click Activate Free Trial

Time Intensity: Low Riskiness Rating: Low
